Recent AU bill helps deter piracy online

The recent implemented piracy bill commands all Aussie internet users be blocked from accessing and downloading films online, in an illegal manner.

In this golden age of digital era, movie downloading has proliferated and file sharing has increased. Brand protection on the other hand had become a least concern. Films such as Dallas Buyers Club, The Expendables 3, and Predestination are some of the few films that are being downloaded unlawfully. This condition seems to be convenient to film pirates but has unfortunately become a crying problem to movie producers who invest a lot. The main issue here really is the protection of intellectual property rights.

Meanwhile, the Copyright Amendment (Online Infringement) Bill 2015 has just been made known to the Australian Parliament. The bill provides that copyright owners administer straightly to the Federal Court for an injunction to disable access to an infringing online location, without having to inaugurate first a Carriage Service Provider’s liability for copyright infringement.
